LatePoint provides flexible authentication options for customers, including passwordless login and OTP verification, so you can customize how customers sign in and ensure their contact information is verified.
Enable or Disable Authentication:
• Disable Authentication: If you don’t want customers to authenticate, you can completely turn off authentication. Customers will not be required to log in before booking.
• Enable OTP Instead of Password: You can disable password login and allow customers to log in using a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to their email or phone.
Select Primary Contact Method:
By default, email is used as the primary contact field, but you can change this:
• Phone number as primary: Customers can log in using their phone number instead of email.
• Email as primary: Keep email as the default login/contact method.
This allows you to match authentication with your preferred customer communication method.
OTP Verification:
LatePoint allows you to enforce OTP verification to ensure customer contact details are correct.
• Require OTP for new users: When a new customer is added, a 6-digit OTP is sent to verify their email or phone before they can complete a booking.
How to Configure These Settings:
- Go to LatePoint > Settings > Authentication.
- Choose your preferred authentication type:
• Disabled (no authentication)
• Password
• OTP only (passwordless login) - Select the primary contact method: email or phone number.
- Enable OTP verification for new users and for primary contact changes, if desired.
- Save your settings.
