This document explains the fees associated with processing payments for appointments. LatePoint supports multiple payment processors, each with its own fee structure.

Processor Fees

LatePoint does not charge these fees— they come directly from the payment processor you choose. It’s important to understand that services like Stripe, PayPal, and Mollie apply their own fees, which is standard across the eCommerce industry. The exact rates vary depending on the processor.

These fees help cover essential costs such as payment processing, security, and fraud prevention. Because processors may adjust their rates over time, we recommend checking with each provider for the most accurate and up-to-date fee information.

Stripe

When you visit the Stripe pricing page, you’ll notice that multiple charges may apply to your transactions.

The standard fee is 2.9% + 30¢ per successful transaction. However, additional fees may apply depending on factors such as the buyer’s payment method, location, or whether the product is part of a subscription.

The two most common additional charges are:

  • +1.5% for payments made with international cards
  • +1% if currency conversion is required

Stripe Standard Fee Example

DescriptionAmount
Appointment Price$30.00
Tax (20% VAT)$6.00
Total$36.00
Stripe Standard Fee 2.9% + 30¢$1.17
Net Profit (total – tax – Stripe standard fee)$28.83

PayPal

When you visit the PayPal pricing page, you will see they have multiple charges that may apply to your transactions.

The standard fee is 3.49% + a fixed fee per successful transaction. The fixed fee varies by currency—for example, USD transactions include a fixed fee of 49¢ per transaction.

Additional fees may also apply depending on the buyer’s payment method. The most common is an extra 1.5% for payments made with international cards.

PayPal Standard Fee Example

DescriptionAmount
Appointment Price$30.00
Tax (20% VAT)$6.00
Total$36.00
PayPal Standard Fee 3.49% + 49¢$1.54
Net Profit (total – tax – PayPal standard fee)$28.46

International Payment Processors

You can also use Mollie to process payments, alongside Stripe and PayPal. Mollie charges a percentage of the transaction plus a fixed fee, similar to other processors.

Transaction Fee

For businesses on the Free plan, a 2.9% fee per transaction is added. This fee helps support the services included with the Free plan, such as access to features and customer support.

It’s worth noting that other WordPress eCommerce products also apply platform fees, for example:

  • Easy Digital Downloads – 3%
  • GiveWP – 2%
  • The Events Calendar – 2%
  • Paid Members Pro – 2%

By upgrading to a LatePoint Starter, Scale, or Agency plan, this transaction fee is completely removed, while still giving you full access to the entire LatePoint feature set.

Transaction Free Plan Example

DescriptionAmount
Appointment Price$30.00
Tax (20% VAT)$6.00
Total$36.00
Stripe Standard Fee 2.9% + 30¢$1.17
Transaction Fee 2.9%$0.87
Net Profit (total – tax – Stripe standard fee – transaction fee)$27.96

To ensure transparency, businesses on the Free plan will see a notice in the Stripe payment block reminding them of the transaction fee.

By upgrading to a Pro plan (Starter, Scale, or Agency), this transaction fee is completely removed. Our Pro plans are designed with no transaction fees, reflecting our commitment to simplicity and clarity—so you can focus on growing your business without worrying about hidden costs.
